Presented by: Paul Mercs Concerts
Centrepointe Theatre
April 09 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Following a string of successful family shows in both Canada and the U.S., Paul Mercs Concerts is pleased to present legendary children’s entertainer Raffi!

Raffi is a singer, songwriter, producer, author, lecturer, and tireless advocate for children. He is best known for his work as a children’s entertainer whose string of gold and platinum-selling recordings in North America includes his classic song, “Baby Beluga”. Once called “the most popular children’s singer in the English-speaking world” (Washington Post) and “Canada’s all time children’s champion” (Toronto Star), Raffi is also a recipient of the Order of Canada and the United Nations’ Earth Achievement Award. He has never advertised to children or made any commercial endorsements aimed at kids. His commitment to treating his young fans with respect changed society’s outlook on music made for children.

“It's fun to be singing for children and families again,” says Raffi. “As well as singing many of my fans’ favorites, I look forward to sharing a song or two from Love Bug and my upcoming album, Owl Singalong.”

In 2010, Raffi founded The Centre for Child Honouring on Salt Spring Island, BC. With the motto “Respecting Earth & Child,” the Centre is at the heart of a global movement that views honouring children as the best way to create sustainable, peacemaking societies.

Recently, Raffi published a book for adults, Lightweb Darkweb, about the critical need to reform social media, especially for young users. As well, he co-founded the Red Hood Project, a grassroots movement for consumer protection for young users.

A Raffi concert is best suited for children old enough to talk, sing or clap along. While Raffi's music is enjoyed by babies at home, the live music experience is much louder and very different than hearing the recorded songs at home. While babies are welcome, they may not enjoy a loud concert sing-along. Also, please keep in mind that the ticket policy of a theatre is that every person needs a ticket.
